ORA913 is a Glasgow based database administration and IT specialist.
Vickers Creative was commissioned by ORA913 to create it's corporate identity, including business card and letterhead design.
"When I first met with Lee to talk about a new logo for my company he asked me to explain what it is I do. I couldn’t imagine how he would turn my technical explanation of database administration into an identity but I was blown away by the results, so much so that I had genuine difficulty even deciding which of his initial concepts I liked the most. I couldn’t be happier with the final identity Lee created for me - not only the logo but the entire package - and Lee’s friendly manner and professional attitude have made getting here absolutely painless. Lee will definitely be the first person I call when I need design work in the future; I can’t recommend him highly enough."

Joe Crofts, Director of ORA913 needed an identity for his database administration and IT business. Vickers Creative was commissioned to create it.
First off was to mind-map the core business in order to identify visual cues which could be used to create the initial concept designs to present to the client:
First off was to mind-map the core business in order to identify visual cues which could be used to create the initial concept designs to present to the client:
Three disparate concept routes were identified:
Interface
The idea that ORA913 was the interface between it’s customers and databases, simplifying what is a complex technology for many.
Disk
Using the universal symbol of databases, a disk or series of disks.
Data
Looking at what can’t be seen within these complex systems, visualising data, or common universal concepts for visualising data - in blocks, process flows and transmission.

Having identified some strong ideas, and with feedback from the client, I set about developing these ideas further digitally.
And the final logo.
